Where to enjoy Pinot (and your pooch) in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley

dog friendly winery-Hartford

Recently, I was tasked with writing an article for Cori Solomon’s wine and travel website The Written Palette about dog-friendly wineries in Sonoma. I know, twist my arm!

So I set out, Eddie in tow, to find the best places in Sonoma where wine and dog lovers can enjoy their Pinot and their pooches in unison…or at least one after the other because otherwise, things could get messy.

Since we’re usually guzzling Gamay, and anything else white, red or rosé, in and along the Russian River, I figured I’d start my search there. What I discovered is most wineries love dogs, but not all of them allow them in or around the tasting rooms. Hence the list below.

Our 5 favorite dog-friendly wineries are:

  • Bacigalupi Vineyards
  • De Loach Vineyards
  • Fog Crest Vineyard
  • Hartford Family Winery
  • Hook & Ladder Vineyards & Winery

Check out the complete article on dog-friendly wineries in Sonoma’s Russian River AVA on The Written Palette here.
